I know this is not about hair but I had to acknowledge what is happening. As a Haitian-American, born from Haitian descendants, my heart goes out to my parent's countries. As I worried for three days to hear from my family in Haiti, I couldn't sleep or rest easy. Thank God, they all are fine. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for other families, who are continually in my prayers. I praise CNN's coverage on the earthquake. People have spotted missing family, adoptions have been expedited, and most importantly America has seen the devastating damage that words cannot possibly describe.
One day before the quake, I made plans with my cousin (that is from Port-Au-Prince, Haiti) to visit in the summer. He talked about taking me hiking through the mountains, sightseeing through the capitol and hanging out in Jacmel, Haiti. This would of been my first visit to my parent's country. I also made plans to visit my other two cousins (which are fine). At any rate, I believe I will visit in the near future to a better, brighter Haiti.
Thank you for all who donated and prayed. If you haven't donated, please donate to Yele Haiti (Wyclef's organization, 100% of proceeds goes to the earthquake) or Red Cross ,http://www.redcross.com/.
